Subbody(subconscious & subtle body), where body and mind melt into one, has no concept, thought or judgment. As pure life, it resonates with everything by being freely connected and separated with infinite patterns.
Subbody Butoh process starts by shifting from everyday mode to subconscious mode through medi-motion and various conditionings. With subbody mode that all distinctions are blurred, we encounter pure and the unknown body languages in the space where everything relates to each other, resonates, appears and disappears infinitely.
It is a process of shedding socialized thinking, listening to the pure body language, experimenting, digesting, fermenting, and discovering dance that defies expectations. It is a fierce process of rebellion against our molded intellects and habituated bodies. It is a process of deep love that shifts from the control of the mind to the resonance of skin and cells, embracing the vulnerability of our lives and dissolving boundaries between self and others.

The subconscious realm is non-dual and has no boundaries. There are resonances without any differentiation; life is continuously resonating with everything in the subconscious realm. When we sink in the subbody mode, we become aware that there is no distinction between self and others. We encounter ourselves in others and vice versa, exploring infinite resonance patterns between self and others, worlds, and discovering many hidden selves in the emptiness of boundaries. It is a creative and insightful process to observe and transform these boundaries, whether they are introverted or extroverted.

BUTOH MIDWIFE
In subbody Butoh, there is a midwife instead of a teacher. When we explore the space between ourselves and the world through Butoh, hidden story, character, emotion, memory, and relationship, etc. within us are embodied in our bodies, just as a fetus comes into the world. Midwife creates multidimensional support for the subbody fetus, listening all internal external conditions. The midwives listen to the body together, dance together, and resonate, integrate with blurring the boundaries between participant and midwife.
